- Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2015I just bought this slim volume based on an automated Amazon recommendation, and am I glad I did! I've never heard of the author, who is apparently in his mid-twenties, but the true wisdom in this book has the power to create the biggest kind of shift possible. The author, David de las Morenas, credits the Stoic Philosophers, and especially Marcus Aurelius, as the inspiration for this book. I've read some of the Stoics, and books on Stoic philosophy as it relates to modern life (Tim Ferris is a huge proponent of utilizing Stoic ideas and reading the Stoics as a way to "hack" modern living), but somehow this book is a distillation of the most important aspects of those ideas into a glistening, crystal clear droplet.
Once I started the practice of staying open and refusing to close down no matter what happened to me, life became a wonderful adventure. The practices outlined in this book are spiritual life teachings of the highest order. I am a long time seeker of spiritual wisdom, and I can pretty much guarantee that following the teaching of this book will CHANGE YOUR LIFE. Buy it!

- Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2015David has put together a very easy to digest book on how to manage stress and anxiety. As somebody who occasionally struggles to effectively manage my own anxiety, I have found that dedicating myself to "remaining open" under all circumstances, as David suggests, is a fantastic mentality to maintain. I specifically found the chapter about "the little man inside your head" to be important. I have begun to remind myself of this every time any negative self-talk erupts in my mind and it truly helps to keep me centered and focused. I think David is doing some great work at his young age and I hope he keeps moving forward, inspiring us to continue to self-improve as well as to pursue and succeed in our own endeavors.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2016I've been a long time fan of the Beastly Gentleman podcast, and so I decided to invest in David's book.
Honestly I think it's great. It is a very practical guide to live a better life, by doing some rather simple techinques to change your mindset.
I found the "accept your reality" and "The open and closed mentality" to be the most useful.
In short. If you want a simple guide to improving your life, I would definitely recommend this book :)

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 days of reading and experience.
I've been reading this book for last 5 days and It's a short but very effective book. I started to apply this book in my daily life, like : Whenever I start to feel bad , I observe some disturbance between my chest and I feel like some gate is closing then I relax my shoulder and try to breathe deep, after that the negative feeling stops growing but also I don't feel very ecstatic , it's like a neutral feeling.

I highly recommend this book. For a few dollars it can change your life. The ideas including accepting reality, gratitude and loving oneself has really changed the way my mind thinks. His writing style is light and expressive and I love how he goes into detail with his personal experiences.
