Today, we are introducing the all-new NGT and M+; two smart electric scooters that bring you the perfect balance of speed and range. Since all of our scooters are connected, you can check things like location, estimated riding range, and even anti-theft alerts straight from your phone.

Today’s launch is no rehearsal for us; we’ve been designing and building smart electric scooters since 2015. In just three short years, our scooters have clocked more than 1 billion kilometers across the globe.

The NGT is our most powerful scooter. The NGT has a 3kW Bosch motor that cranks out a top speed of 70km/h, and a range of well over 100 km thanks to its 2-removable Panasonic batteries. You can easily drive all week on just a single charge of your two batteries. 

The NPro is the addition you were all asking for. It is an NGT that is capped at 45 km/h. No other differences, exactly the same specs. So in countries like Germany, you only need a car license to drive it, NOT a motorbike license. You asked, we listened.

The M+ is the newest model in our M-Series: winner of 5+ International Design Awards. It’s sexy, practical and built for 2 riders. The M+ effortlessly zips around urban streets, boulevards and alleys at 45 km/h with a real city riding range of well over 100 km.

The NGT and M+ are both equipped with industry-leader BOSCH brushless hub mounted 3kW and 1.2kW motors respectively. The BOSCH 3kW motor easily accelerates up to 70 km/h.

The NGT and M+ are electrified by our Panasonic Lithium-ion removable battery packs. The NGT has two removable batteries (2 x 60v35aH), and the M+ has one removable battery (1x 48v42aH). At under 14/11 kg respectively, you can easily carry the battery into your home and charge it in any standard wall outlet, just like your computer.

The NGT and M+ have an on-board computer that constantly communicates with the cloud so you can view real-time data on your smart phone like GPS, recent rides, and even anti-theft alerts. We also provide regular Over The Air Updates (OTA) that gets you the most updated software for your scooter.  

The NGT comes standard with CBS for safe-braking at high speeds. Both the NGT and M+ come equipped with regenerative EBS braking, which effectively adds around 5% more range on a single charge.

Our campaign is a little different than what you are typically accustomed to on Indiegogo, as we will only be taking a €100 deposit today, and the full and final payment will be made at the store you choose to pick-up your scooter at in January when we make delivery.

During our 30-day campaign here on Indiegogo you can make a €100 deposit for the NGT, NPro, or the M+.  This €100 deposit will get you a discount off the 2019 retail price. By making a deposit today you will save €300 on the M+, and €500 on the NGT and NPro when you pick it up at the store.

*The suggested retail price of €2599 and €4499 is based on a 19% Value Added Tax.

1. Will I pay the full price of the scooter on Indiegogo.com?

NO. At Indiegogo.com, you are required to pay a €100 deposit only. The remaining amount will be paid at your local dealer.

2. Will my €100 deposit be credited to the final price I have to pay?

YES. The €100 deposit will be credited toward the final price. So, when you pick up your scooter at the dealer in January you will pay the discounted price less €100.

(e.g. The M+ at €2.299*, you will pay at the store €2.299* - €100 = €2.199*)

3. Will I be able to get my deposit back?

YES. The deposit is refundable until October 26th included.

4. Where and when will I pay the remaining payment for the scooter?

Once the scooter is delivered in January 2019, you can pay the remaining payment at the dealer/store you selected.

5. What VAT will I have to pay?

The listed prices on our website and Indiegogo.com are based on a 19% VAT.

VAT’s vary by country so the final price in your country may be different. Please check with your local tax authorities. 

6. I don’t live in the EU, but I can see that you sell scooters in my country, what will the price be?

Your price will be based upon the direct conversion rate between the Euro and your currency. Please remember that VAT and Sales Tax may vary from EU taxes. Please check with your local tax authorities to confirm the final tax rate applicable for electric scooters. 

7. How will I get the €300 gift package?

The €300 gift package will be delivered with your scooter. The €300 gift package is only available for the first 3000 backers. 

8. When will I choose what color of scooter I want?

Once the pre-sale finishes on 26th October 2018, shortly after you will be sent an email that will allow you to choose your favorite color.

Once the scooter has been shipped to your pick-up store, you will receive an email notification that your scooter will be ready for pick-up. We expect all pick-ups to be completed by the end of January 2019.

15. What warranty do you offer?

Our scooter’s battery, motor and charger are all backed by a 2-year warranty.

The FOC Controller, the Smart Controller, the Dashboard, the Indicators,  Front Light and the Rear Light are all backed by a 1-year warranty.

16. What differentiates your eScooters from the others?

NIUs are smart scooters. Each scooter is connected to the NIU cloud, which allows the riders to access their own data through our app and lets NIU provide over the air (OTA) firmware updates for your motor, battery, and user interface.

17. Can a NIU get me all the way to work?

The average journey for the urban commuter is less than 15 km at a speed under 50km/h. Our product is purpose-built for this type of trip and designed to give you a better alternative to cars and public transit.

18. How can I charge the battery?

You can either charge the battery while it is in the scooter, or take it out of the scooter and charge it using the Niu charger that can plug into any standard wall outlet. Charging a NIU scooter is as easy as charging your laptop computer.

19. How long does it take to be fully charged?

The battery fully charges in 3.5 hours.

20. How much weight do the N-GT and M+ support?

The N-GT can hold up to 200 kg, and the M+ can hold up to 150 kg.

21. How close are you to manufacturing?

We’ve been working on both The NGT and M+ for over two years now. With your support, we can bring them worldwide by January 2019.

22. Will there be continued support/updates for the App?

Yes! We will continue our work on the NIU App to bring you more integrations and support. We also provide regular Over The Air Updates (OTA) that gets you the most updated software for your scooter. 

23. Is NIU a company I can trust?

We have a two-year warranty on our products. We have over 500,000 scooters on the roads. We have over 1,000 points of sale globally. Therefore, if you have any issues, there will be either an online or local solution for you.

All of our batteries cost less that €0.50 to charge fully.

29. Can I use a type C charger?

NO.
