    Spotify has over 50 million tracks and adds around 4000 new tracks per day, so you can generally find most mainstream tracks from artists. The sound quality is good, but if your a top end soundafile with £300 headphones well it's maybe not for you. Though with 180 million users and over 80 million paid users like myself it's doing something right. It has a single users subscription for £9.99 or student for £4.99. or duo for £12.99 or family subscription for £14.99 that gives you 6 premium accounts, so working out at £2.50 mark per user.
    It's supported by Sonos speakers and you can a high level of download for a small extra cost to take advantage of the speaker if required.
    The difference between free and premium is the usual no advertising and allow you to have off line access to pre downloaded content.
    It compentention is Apple music and Dezzer application with similar pricing and both running 3 month free trial to premium services with both having around 70+ million songs and having free versions. Ive only used Dezzer previously and was of similar quantity. The other option is Tidal which is more street music and Jay-z is involved.
    I have used Spotify for 3 years now and it's the best services for overall content, quality and value for money. Though I guess you Apple devotees will stick with what you know

    Was good enough to start off with and loved having Spotify coming through the surround sound amp and speakers. But I couldn't quite figure out why it had to be controlled via my smartphone app, which seemed a bit fiddly. Spotify must have updated the app (or I'm a total div for not noticing before!) because it now appears to have a very smooth user interface controlled directly via the FireStick remote and the telly screen. The awesome power of Spotify combined with quick convenient access to my playlists and what passes for pretty decent sound quality makes for a the sort of cheap, fun home entertainment we could only have dreamed about even five years ago.

    This is now getting close to perfect as a Spotify app (it used to be limited to being a casting app, and connectivity through Spotify Connect was very flaky).

    One thing the Fire TV interface still doesn't have is the ability to go from a track that's playing to the album that contains it. Desktop and mobile versions have this (as does the unofficial "Emma for Spotify" Fire TV app). Very useful when you're listening to a playlist and want to investigate the full album. Spotify Connect makes that not too big a problem though (open up Spotify on your phone or computer and you can control it from there)

    Also, you can't add tracks to a playlist on it: again, you'll have to do that on another device, via Spotify Connect. Maybe playlist management is too fiddly a thing to really be practical via a TV interface.

    Finally, it would be nice if the app didn't always start up on the "Browse" tab with all the Spotify-curated playlists. If, like me, you're only interested in your own music, not Spotify-curated playlists like "Your Coffee Break", you'll find you always have to switch to "Your Music" first.

    Gosh how I both hate and love Spotify!
    I am massive music freak and have to have it playing at least once a day otherwise I get seriously cranky. Guess it's like having no coffee in the morning? This is were Spotify is amazing and a literal live saver so I do not turn into a genocidal freak. No kidding.
    However, my hate of Spotify... it costs SO much money. I do not mean in terms of per month premium - that is not a problem at all. No my complaint lies with the fact I find a new band I like which then turns into bands and then it turns into me liking these new bands a lot. That like turns into me buying one CD and then another ... and another ... until I have whole bunches on order from multiple bands (some that I can only buy on certain websites at higher rates - worth it). Why brother buying CDs when the music is at my finger tips you may ask? It's because I like solid copies that I can call my own that I do not the Internet to play. Not to forget all the tours I want to see - thanks Spotify!
    So yeah me and Spotify have a love/hate relationship but overall it is worth it.
